We sat together this last week and took a moment to reflect on our ongoing community service projects. We co-created this chart to represent the different layers of community that we experience around us. We had fun discussing this, and chose to leave some layers out focusing on the layers you see in the picture (but just so you know, we recognized layers like: upstairs hallway, wood building, hemispheres, universe, beyond!).
We were amazed and proud to see that our four third grade community service projects reached many different layers of community! The realization was that serving community is rewarding and valuable wheather it is close to home, or far away!
Check out the rest of this blog to see what incredible things our third graders have done. Aren't you impressed ?
I think we answered our driving question, and answered it well-
"How can a third grader contribute to their community?"
