Hi Everyone!
We sat down this morning to game plan about our end of the year schedule (the kids and I). They are dying for a lot of special days such as “mustache day” and “go crazy “ day but I think I reeled them in and they are happy with the following:
*Anything in “GREEN” marks something you either need to bring or can offer to bring in!
Friday, May 31st: National Boards Celebration Day ~ Wear PJ’s
-The kids have been so encouraging as I’ve gone through this process. Caleigh has requested we celebrate by wearing pajamas and watching a movie during the day !
Friday, June 7th: Volunteer Breakfast
I’ll be sending home invites today. Please attend if you have helped this year in any way! We want to celebrate you and how incredible our parents are!!
Friday, May 31st: Toy Exhibition
We have a date on the calendar! We have decided to open our exhibition from 1:30-3:30 as we will need the lunchroom. If you are available to help set up starting at 1:10 please let me know!
I have some classroom money I will use to get a few basic things for this day. Each kid will have a professional looking exhibitor’s name tag and I’ll bring a light snack and drink for our visiting family and friends.
If you would like to bring something quick to much on or bring in an easy drink-let me know! I’m sure our toy exhibitors will also want in on the munchies J
Tuesday, June 11th: Summer Birthday Celebration
Summer birthdays are: Ava, Leo, Emmett, Vince, Hope, Caleigh, Camden, Ms. Klope
We will celebrate together! If you can bring a light, healthy snack let me know! Each birthday kid is welcome to donate a book as is now our school tradition. This can be a new or used book! Some kids have given a book off their own shelf that they are not longer reading and that has been great!
Wednesday, June 12th: Clean Out the Room Day
Students will need to bring a bag to carry home their stuff! Their portfolios, cursive books, etc will all be going home along with the entire contents of their lockers. Please make sure this bag is durable-reusable cloth shopping bags are the best. Anything left over will be placed outside the room as a temporary “lost and found” and then either tossed or placed in the school lost and found on Friday.
· We will also be cleaning the desks with Shaving Cream. It’s pretty darn fun. It leaves a sticky film and you need to rinse them afterward, but we do it anyway!!
Thursday, June 13: Field Day
We are team RED this year!! Please help your student gear up with as much red as possible. Last year we sprayed wash-out red color in our hair. I will not be doing this as my bleached hair held on to the color for about a month…..but…it washes out great in the kids’ hair! This will be entirely optional and if you are opposed to it just let me know!
Friday, June 14th: Last Day
On the last day we will reflect about our year in our already cleaned out room-wahooty! Kids will open their letters that you wrote to them on Curriculum night earlier in the year (I’ll email you separately if you have not yet given me a letter.)We will also be writing letters to the incoming 2nd graders!
** I know family time is invaluable and some of you may have plans to be gone the last day. However, I encourage you to keep your kids in school until the very last day if at all possible. We will be sticking to our outlined schedule and I’m hoping everyone will be here for our big last day!
